Perbedaan Your dan You're, There, Their, dan They're

Your/you're dan there/their/they're terdengar sama persis saat diucapkan, tapi artinya sangat berbeda. Ini termasuk kesalahan menulis yang paling sering muncul — bahkan penutur asli pun kadang salah.

Your vs You're

• your = kepunyaan (milik kamu) — diikuti kata benda.
• you're = singkatan dari "you are".

Trik cepat: coba ganti kata itu dengan "you are". Kalau kalimatnya tetap masuk akal, pakai you're.

• ❌ "Your welcome." → ✅ "You're welcome." (artinya "you are welcome")
• ❌ "I like you're shoes." → ✅ "I like your shoes." (kepunyaan, bukan singkatan)

There vs Their vs They're

• there = menunjuk tempat, atau untuk kalimat "there is/are".
• their = kepunyaan (milik mereka) — diikuti kata benda.
• they're = singkatan dari "they are".
